The good thing about jobs for 17 year olds is that they can be most anything accept jobs that are hazardous. There is no limit on hours like there are for younger teens so employers are more likely to hire you over someone that is younger. Because you are old enough to drive, you might also be eligible for a job a Domino’s or some other similar establishment delivering pizza.

Your First Step

Your first step should be to go online to give yourself the best chance of getting a job. If you are seventeen, you should develop a resume even if you don’t have much work experience. Include all the jobs you have had as well as awards you have won and any other good things you do. You will need a resume in most cases when looking for a job so you need to start one now. Additionally, you should use the three free websites listed below to expand your job search and make sure you have all your bases covered. Many employers now get all their employees online and so you need to be actively searching at these three job search sites:

Snagajob – 100% free to sign up and they specialize in part time and hourly jobs. These are often exactly what a 17 year old is looking for.

Monster.com – 100% free to sign up and they have one of the biggest online job databases.

Your Second Step

You have three options when looking for a job and taking advantage of all three of them is what you should do. First of all, if you have friends who work, find out from them whether they like their jobs and whether there are any job openings. You should get all the information they can give you and perhaps even have them put in a good word for you. Use any friends and contacts you have to the best of your ability to give yourself the best chance of landing a job.

Your Third Step

And finally, you should go around your neighborhood or town and scout out all the jobs you think you might want or places you might like to work. Stop in at all these places, introduce yourself, inquire about the possibility of working there, and find out as much as you can while making contact with these business owners. There will undoubtedly be a lot of rejection at this point but employers like teens who take the initiative to come in and introduce themselves. If you have a resume you should drop it off at this time. You never know, if you make a good impression, when a job opening does come up, the employer might just remember you and give you a call.

Will it be jobs for 17 year olds or college? When you turn seventeen, it is time to start making some important decisions and the biggest one is whether you want to go to college or whether you just want to try to get a job when you graduate.

Seventeen year olds are usually in the 11th grade and that is when you have to start thinking about and applying to colleges. It isn’t fun having to make that kind of decision and it is a lot of work to do all the applying, However, if you don’t buckle down and do it, you will see all your friends leaving town to head off to college with you having no where to go.

Not everyone goes to college and that is okay if it is not right for you. You will need to be productive though and get a job once you graduate. Right now, getting a job is a tough proposition for anyone, much less an 18 year old with little experience.

When you are 17 years old, suddenly you find you have more responsibility than you did before. Your grades start counting more towards college and you have to take tests like the SAT. You are also one year away from having to sign your name up for the miliary draft if that should ever happen (let’s hope it doesn’t). Also, you probably need more money than you did before for things such as dating, clothes, and cars.

Deciding on whether to get a job out of high school or go to college is tough because you are forced to think into the future and figure out what is best. If you aren’t so keen on going to college it still doesn’t mean that you might wish you did someday. But the decision on which path to choose has to start when you are 17 years old and that can be quite a difficult and scary time.

If you are one of the many teens looking for a job, you should not forget to use all the job sources at your disposal. It might be embarassing if you have been looking for a while and had no luck, but you musn’t let it discourage you too much. Jobs are tough for everyone now and finding jobs for seventeen year olds is no different than any other age.

Most teens have friends who have jobs and you should use them as a lead. If you do know someone who has an after school job or the type of job you might want, ask them how they got it and if they know of any openings. Sometimes teens who have jobs hear things at work about when their employer might be hiring or they might be able to put in a good word for you. Even if they don’t know of any immediate job opportunities, they could give you valuable information of how they got hired. Perhaps they have a strategy that worked for them that you don’t know about.

Another job search strategy not to be overlooked is to use your parents to help you get the word out that you need a job. This might be a tough one for a 17 year old because at that age you probably want to distance yourself from your parents as much as possible just because they embarass you. But if you really want to find a job and are serious, you need to consider that they might be able to help you. Your parents might know someone that could hire you and they also might be able to put in a good word for you with one of their friends. Letting your parents help you find a job might not be what you really want to happen but it might be the difference in whether you go the rest of the year with or without that job.

Summer is over now and kids are heading back to school. It is a shame that many older teens never got jobs this summer because of the bad economy. If you are still looking for a job and want one this fall or winter, you should probably try to find some sort of part time job. do you know where you should go to find some good part time jobs for 17 year olds?

You should continue to be on the lookout for local jobs in your city and keep knocking on doors and applying at places you haven’t yet. If you want to find a part time job, you always have to be on the lookout for help wanted signs and anything else that might clue you in to the possibility of job openings. If you continue to make contacts, knock on doors, and let your friends know you still want a job, something will open up sooner or later.

You should also continue to look online for a job as that is where may job recruiters hang out. Hourly and part time jobs are the specialty of Snagajob which is one of the first places you should go online. They are the best job website for part time jobs which is exactly what you might be trying to find.

Although it is free to sign up to SnagAJob, you should only do that if you are serious about finding a job. Their site has lots of employers like retail outlets, fast food restaurants, bowling alleys, movie theaters and other places that might have part time and hourly work for teens. Companies like Kohls, Home Depot, Dominoes, Toys “r” Us, Sears, an K Mart are just some of the companies that hire through Snagajob.

This fall and for the rest of 2009, it is going to be no different than the earlier part of the year. You will have trouble finding jobs no doubt until some big turn around happens to the economy and that will not be this year for sure. Jobs for 17 year olds will continue to be difficult to get but they are out there and you have to keep trying. Snagajob can help you locate the jobs in your area and in many cases you can even apply for them right there on the site.

Summer has pretty much come and gone now with the sad news that many teenagers were unsuccessful at getting a summer job. Now that school is soon to be back in session, what should you do?

One of the things you might think about doing is looking for part time jobs for 17 year olds. School takes up a lot of time and it might be especially difficult to hold down a job if you have after school activities. However if you can get and keep a part time job throughout the year, you will have a big advantage next summer when everyone is looking for jobs again.

Next summer (2010) is probably going to be hard to get a job just like it was this year. The economy may change a little, but jobs for teens will most likely still be hard to get. If and when you finally get a job this year, see if you can’t hold on to it part time. If an employer likes you, they will go out of their way to try to accommodate your schedule.

Remember, it is hard for companies and employers to find good help that they like too. If you have a good relationship with your boss, see if you can stay on through the school year part time. This may benefit both he and you and then next summer you won’t have to start from scratch with your job hunting.

Good part time jobs for 17 year olds can be found if you keep looking and are not easily discouraged. One of the hardest parts of looking for a job is the feeling that they are all taken and you are never going to find one. Keeping your head up and maintaining a positive attitude all contribute to your eventual success in landing that job. So remember, keep looking and don’t give up because sooner or later you will find a job.

If you are seventeen years old, you have a big decision to make. If you think you want to go to college you had better apply soon or it will be too late. You might be considering either going to college after high school or getting a job instead and you need to make that decision soon.

You might be looking f or jobs for 17 year olds because you want a part time job during the school year or a full time job in the summer. No matter which, at age 17 you need to start making some decisions.

When you reach that age, employers start to expect a little more of you. You might have some work experience and you should start thinking of constructing a resume (see resumes for 17 year olds). If you are serious about getting a better job than just flipping burgers, that resume is needed for sure.

Teens that are seventeen years old are typically in the 11th or 12th grade and that is where you have to start mapping out your future. Most kids decide to go to college and that means applying to different colleges and universities that you might be interested in. This is something that needs to be done promptly as there is no room for delays. If you don’t get your college application in on time, it will be too late to do anything about it. And with the economy being so bad, it might be difficult to get any type of decent job.

Not all young adults want to go to college and that is OK. That means though, that you will have so be searching for jobs for 17 year olds and high school graduates. You probably won’t have a big selection because at your age you won’t have much experience and there jobs are scarce right now too. It is not a good time to be graduating high school right now and looking for a job.

Many high school students that might not ordinarily gone to college are changing their minds now. This is because jobs are so hard to find and college is the only alternative. Of course, college is not a bad choice for any young adult and if you are smart you will use your college experience to learn and get ahead.

If you are 17 years old and out for the summer, chances are good that you are looking for a job. That means you are trying to find either a summer full time job or some sort of part time job. Where can you go to find some good summer jobs for 17 year olds?

You can visit all the companies and businesses in your neighborhood or city and that is something you probably should do to cover all the bases. There is nothing that works like knocking on doors, talking to people, and letting employers know that you are serious about finding a job.

However, you should also be looking online for a job because that is where many employers look now for potential new hires and it is good practice anyway for when you get older. If you are looking for an hourly job or a part time job, a great place to go online to find one is SnagAJob.com. They are the #1 website that specializes in hourly jobs and part time jobs which are exactly what many teenagers are trying to find.

It is free to look around and sign up to SnagAJob but you only want to do that if you are serious about getting a job. Their website has all sorts of employers like retail outlets, fast food restaurants, bowling alleys, movie theaters and other places that might have summer work for teens. Companies like Kohls, Home Depot, Dominoes, Toys “r” Us, Sears, an K Mart are just some of the companies that hire through SnagAJob.

This summer and for the rest of 2009 you are going to have to work hard to find jobs that are hiring. The economy is doing poorly and many people are out of work which makes it that much harder to find open jobs. Jobs for 17 year olds are out there but you have to do everything you can to find them and then get them. SnagAJob.com can help you locate the jobs in your area and in many cases you can even apply for them right there on the site.

If you are looking for jobs for 17 year olds, it might be a good time to start a resume. A resume is really just a list of who you are, perhaps some of your accomplishments, and all the jobs you have had. Anyone who is 17 years old might not have had a job yet but then again, many might have been employed before.

When you are seventeen years old, you are old enough to have done some noteworthy things and this makes it a great time to start putting together a resume. You can look online to see the format and how it is all supposed to fit together on a page. Even if you haven’t had any real job experience, it is a good idea to start putting a resume down on paper with some of your other accomplishments.

By the time you are 17, you will most likely have done a few things in life that are worthy of listing that may help you get a job. Things like academic awards, being a camp counselor, volunteer work, good grades and anything else that shows responsibility will be what you will want to list. Don’t worry about never having had a job if that’s the case. Everyone of us has had to get their first job and if you have some other things that show your character, it will help persuade that first potential employer to take a gamble on you.

Another reason that resumes for 17 year olds are a good idea is that at that age you are one year away from graduating high school and after that you will either be going on to college or having to job hunt in earnest. The more things you can list and the better looking you can make your resume, the more you will be prepared to face the real world. At 17 years of age, you are close to having to go out and fend for yourself and a resume will be needed so it is good practice to start putting one together.

It used to be that a resume would be typed up nicely on paper and then handed out to potential employers. Of course with computers and the Internet that has all changed. You will want to type your resume out on your computer and at some point you will also want to start submitting it online to different jobs sites. Everything is done online now days and getting your resume online is just one of the many steps you will need to learn how to do. Jobs for 17 year olds may be hard to find this summer and if you have a resume it might be a bit easier. Even if it doesn’t help you right now this year, getting started putting together your first resume is something that will benefit you in the future.

Welcome to jobs for 17 year olds. The job environment is a tough one right now and anyone looking for a job might be discouraged. Seventeen year olds have the advantage over younger teens in that they qualify for many jobs that younger teenagers might not be allowed to do by law.

If you are looking for a summer job or any job throughout the year, you will probably need to work harder to get it than in years past. This is because of the very difficult economic environment and many businesses just aren’t hiring. These are the same businesses that might have had a job for you in years past.

Many of you might benefit from being creative and trying to find alternative ways to make money or things that you can do and charge people for them. In other words, it might be time to get out there and try to start your own mini business.

This can be done offline as well as online. If you have computer skills, you might be able to figure out ways to sell your skills and services to adults who need your help. You might be able to do things like design websites and sell them or just design websites for your neighborhood small business for a fee.

Offline, you can try to make money in many of the usual ways such as babysitting, lawn care, painting houses, fixing up houses, or charging for miscellaneous jobs that people might be willing to pay for. This way, even if you can’t get a real job with a company, you will be able to get some money coming in.

This is a time for you to explore all the possibilities and be creative. Good luck getting that job or whatever you decide to do.
